Complaint against mayor unsuccessful
Bernhard herrmann’s complaint against the non-public handling of a motion by the untersteinach citizens’ association faction in the municipal council has come to nothing: "the legal supervisory authority has confirmed that everything was correct", announced mayor volker schmiechen (SPD) yesterday.
He confirmed the receipt of a corresponding letter from government councilor kathrin limmer, who is responsible for legal supervision at the district office in kulmbach, and rejected the complaint.
Schmiechen had the secret decision of the municipal council that, contrary to the UBG demand, there will be no second expert opinion on the untersteinach water supply, on 1. Marz announced. As reported last week, bernhard herrmann had then called in the supervisory authority, because – according to his argumentation – matters of municipal water supply are of public concern and therefore must be dealt with in public without exception.
The mayor, on the other hand, referred to internal matters in the consultations that had to remain secret, even in the opinion of head of administration martin betz – and has now been proven right by the supervisory authority.
